General Appearance
The Labrador Retriever is a stongly built, medium-sized, short-coupled dog possessing a sound athletic, well-balanced conformation with an "otter"-like tail. A clean-cut head with broad back skull, friendly eyes, intelligent and good temperament.
Size
The height at the withers for a male is 22-1/2 to 24-1/2 inches and for a bitch is 21-1/2 to 23-1/2 inches. Approximate weight for males is 65 to 80 pounds and bitches 55 to 70 pounds.
Color
The Labrador Retriever coat colors are Black, Yellow and Chocolate. Yellows may range in color from fox-red to light cream, with variations in shading on the ears, back, and underparts of the dog.
Coat
The coat is short, dense and weather-resistant.
